Dear Jeff,
I am experiencing a deepening and a quickening as a result of the instructions you are giving and the authentic presence of support you and the group provides. Many books have been written about “Letting Go” but it seems to be happening spontaneously more and more under your transmission. Yet when you talk about “Conscious Contentment” I get pushed back across the meditation line into my external life. At that moment I feel confused that I am creating this “no problem” place in the sanctuary of meditation, while life’s battles continue outside of the sanctuary. I suspect this is fear around getting very close to the Yes you spoke to Nancy about yesterday and letting it all go. I think I may need a push:

“Come to the edge," he said.
"We can't, we're afraid!" they responded.
"Come to the edge," he said.
"We can't, We will fall!" they responded.
"Come to the edge," he said.
And so they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.”

Answer

Hello Lawrence, I would suggest that perhaps you don't need a push, just let everything be as it is, that includes the letting go that you are experiencing, the experience of getting pushed back out of meditation, the experience of thinking you need a push, etc... etc... Whatever is happening is what is. The only practice is letting it be...the only problem is the idea that something is wrong... and even that is not a problem if you don't make it one.
