In this issue we explore the nature of spiritual activism. In a world that seems to be rife with crises that challenge the social and ecological stability of our future, engaging with the processes of change from our deepest ideals and aspirations is more critical than ever. In our interviews we spoke with three dedicated activists who are motivated by their spiritual heart and realization.
We start by speaking with Aterah Nusrat about her experience of working to increase awareness of issues pertaining to global health. Next we spoke with Mary Adams who discusses the extreme activism that she is engaged with through the Extinction Rebellion. Both of these interviews highlight the need for an overarching shift in paradigm in order to create the possibility of widespread change.
Our third interview is an in depth exploration with Lama Rod Owens of the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism and one of the author’s of the book Radical Dharma. This insightful interview was conducted by our own Robin Beck and in it Lama Rod offers a powerful examination of the tension between love and anger in activism. Ultimately Lama Rod speaks about how sustainable change can only come from activism rooted in love.
Lastly you will find some powerful written pieces from some of the members of The Mystery School who share their wisdom and insight into this crucially important discussion.
We hope you enjoy the issue.
