When I first met Susan Kullman seven years ago I knew that I had met a spiritual sister because I could see that she was as devoted to the power of practice as I was. My spiritual life has been punctuated by lots of practice, - hundreds of thousands of hours of meditation, prostrations, mantra chanting, contemplation, and group dialog practices.
All that practice taught me that if we work consistently and effectively on our inner self, our experience of ourselves and the world gradually transforms. We awaken sensitivities to deeper dimensions of reality and discover the source of our own existence. For me this discover was life altering. I remember the day it hit me that it was possible to change and transform your life, through the effort of your own spiritual practice. I looked up at the sky and thought, “I’m free. I am free to change and evolve and be different." And I have never felt existentially victimized since.
Two decades later I met Susan at her yoga studio just north of New York City. We sat for a few minutes together and then went for a walk. As I learned more about her story, I recognized who she was. She had recovered from a life-threatening illness by learning how to work with the body’s natural healing capacity. She mastered the practice of yoga and somatic movement. She became an internationally competitive dancer. And she has a profound understanding of the connection between the body, the mind, and the spirit.
I will be joining Susan for her upcoming six-week practice program and in preparation for that we wanted to offer this free online event so that we could share our mutual love for the power of practice with you. I feel lucky to include Susan in a short list of teachers that I am actively learning from, and deeply inspired by.
Please join us on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at Recording Available via zoom and discover how the power of practice can unleash your own transformative potential.
Sincerely,
