Mindfulness-based practices have been shown to relieve anxiety and stress, support positive mood and optimistic outlook, and develop compassion and kindness towards oneself and others. The mini practices in Be Easy shift your attention from worry to centeredness, from agitation to calm, and from fear to connection. Support yourself and explore the power of Being Easy!
The affirmations on these cards were developed by Amy Edelstein, based on her work with Inner Strength Education, the school mindfulness program she founded in 2014.
How To Use This Deck
- Sit in a comfortable posture, in a way that lets you feel safe and secure. Hold the cards in your hands or spread the facedown on a table and choose one card. Before you look at the card, set an intention for yourself such as "Now I will put my attention on this mindfulness practice and support myself to be strong and calm." Read the card slowly. Follow the guidelines on the card. Repeat if you'd like.
- Sit with a friend. Choose a card for yourself and have your friend choose a card. Guide your friend in the practice on your card, then do it together. Notice what it's like to do it together. Switch and have your friend guide you with their chosen card, then practice this second mindfulness activity together. Close by thanking each other.
