Eileen DiFranco
Eileen McCafferty DiFranco holds a Master of Divinity from United (formerly the Lutheran) Theological Seminary of Philadelphia. A lifelong student of history and theology, she has long experienced cognitive dissonance between the words of Jesus with the manner in which all Christian denominations, including the Catholic Church, have behaved in the world. The Cost of Sainthood grew out of her dissatisfaction with the various churches’ elevation of right belief over right behavior.
DiFranco is a regular columnist for Southeastern Pennsylvania Women’s Ordination Conference newsletter “Equal wRites” and the author of a 2017 book entitled How to Keep Your Parish Alive, which provides a blueprint for founding intentional Eucharistic communities when bishops close down a local parish.
