Artwork by Josephine Winsor

I am an artist and have actively painted for more than 50 years. Looking back it is clear that the full body of my work is a pictorial journal of my life that has been completely guided spiritually. It is a record of awakenings. Reflecting on this right now is filling me with such gratitude, a sense of humility and Love. These words can not convey the experience of this moment, but perhaps the next painting will.
Art invites the viewer to share the same experience of the artist. For me the process of art making has always been an attempt to put onto canvas a particular intangible reality that is both deeply personal and meaningful. It has been my way of conveying feelings or realizations of a spiritual nature, or a response to a shocking situation. It is an entirely reciprocal happening in that I am receiving inspiration through feelings and images before and during this creative process and at the same time recording them on canvas. This process, especially if uncensored by my inner critic, seems to transmit energy and messages to viewers, reminding them of their own inner journey, or a higher truth. This is both how I learn and how I contribute during this time of great awakening.
