Stella Criscuolo
I’ve mostly been drawing for 30 or more years. Learning by myself until I came to know an all-changing method of drawing which asked you to suspend any idea, all the knowing you had about any object in order to really see what you had in front of your eyes and then be able to draw it. Then I started to teach with some great outcomes, a beautiful experience for myself also.
By this time I started to see parallels between this way of seeing and the spiritual life, not that I can put words to it right now or maybe it is not the time or place. This period organically derived in a new open space, I found my medium (a Japanese ink brush) with which I started to flow, no effort, no plan, amazed at what started to manifest as abstracts or landscapes coming from the unseen world of endless possibilities: I can say now, from the Source of creation itself, through me into manifestation. A year ago or so I had this knowing: “these works have to fly and be seen because they deserve better than landing in a drawer, because they are transmissions.” Then, out of the blue, I was invited to a one show exhibition in an Art gallery -coming in September- and also to participate in this magazine. Two worlds coming together!
