I am a self-taught artist who expresses a Divine creative impulse through the creation of mandalas.
Regularly provided with images and symbols during sleep and during meditation practice, I often feel a needy compulsion to render my visions. Not knowing why, I have learned to listen to this unconscious pull and put these images to paper. And in the meditative process of creating these mandalas, they often take on a life of their own. Once completed, I marvel at their vibrancy and the richness of the symbology interwoven throughout their design. To embrace their secret messages and to bring clarity of their meaning into my consciousness, I often meditate with the finished piece. Usually, an amazing epiphany is presented through them, maybe a new perspective of my current circumstance in this plane of experience or a premonition of the future will unfold. Sometimes more images rush in and the process will begin again. I have on occasion tried ignoring the impulse to produce these strange and colorful pieces, but they do not leave me alone and I cannot rest until the mandala is finished and shared with those that choose to view it. Sometimes whilst in the collective field of meditation with like-minded souls I intuit images specifically for another person. If the compulsion to render is strong enough, I will ask permission before I create something for that person.
My medium is mixed. I usually begin with a watercolor base adding richness and texture with colored pencils, gel pens, glitter, and metallic paints.
