“Dreaming of a New Life”
I’m dreaming of a new life
A new start
A new path beneath my feet
A fresher air to be breathed
Far from the race that finishes nowhere
Nowhere where the costs are my peace of mind

I want to Be with the sounds of the water
The birds up above and the sky of blue love
At least for a time
For the heart to unwind
Forgetting the past, and free at last
To embrace this new gift that is before me

Yes, I’m dreaming of a new life this morning
As I strap on my boots and work through my day
New visions appear as the old fade away
Leading me to wander in wonder and soulfulness
To a new land of new love
With peace, calm, and mindfulness

Yes, I’m dreaming of a new life
As this body becomes old
But these dreams are young
Refreshing and bold

I woke up this morning
From dreams through the night
I was far up above
My body took flight
In the scene from my view
There was wonder and danger
Someone was dying
I didn’t know her
But she was no stranger
She came and sat with me for a while
I knew she would be missed

This is how it goes in this place
Where dreams seem real in nights and days
So lucid is said to steer our way
Where attention goes, the road gets paved

So I’m dreaming of a new life
On a watercolor-brushed page
In the Autumn of this body
With the smoke of white sage
